The magician explains that it isn’t actually sleight of hand that allows a magician to pull a coin from behind someone’s ear. It’s physics. If you know how you can grab all the necessary atoms out of the air and form them into a coin. To prove it, the magician will form one right there, right now, and in slow motion. Pinching their fingers together, the magician suddenly has half a coin at their fingertips. Selecting a few more atoms out of the air, they now have a quarter of a coin, and fuse both pieces together. With three-quarters of a coin now at their fingertips, the magician pinches the final piece from the air, and fuses all three together. The resulting coin is immediately handed out for examination.
